Keystone Colorado Vacations

Breckenridge Colorado
> Keystone Colorado

Skis or mountain bikes, golf clubs or snow shoes, whether you come to Keystone in the winter or summer, you will leave feeling like you had the vacation of a lifetime.

Overview

As a full-fledged mountain resort, it doesn't take long understand why Keystone holds its draw. There are so many things to do that people keep finding new reasons to come back.

Winter months are the traditional attraction, with the night skiing keeping the lifts and terrain park open late. The ski area offers an incredible selection of three mountains, each having a unique terrain and style, from beginner to expert.

Summer is a feast for mountain lovers! Take your pick from two championship golf courses, fly fishing, rafting, and an impressive array of trails for hiking, biking, off-roading and more.

Location

Keystone is located 70 miles west of Denver, on the western side of Loveland Pass.

Lodging and Services

Much more than a simple mountain, Keystone, Colorado has two villages, both filled with retail shops, restaurants, and the always-important apres-ski bar! When you get off the mountain, head to either River Run Village or Lakeside Village to stroll the pedestrian-friendly streets.

Activities

Where to start? Skiing is a great activity, for starters, and is the traditional base of the entire resort. Snowboarding has made a strong push in the later years, and Keystone responded with the behemoth A51 Terrain Park, a massive night-lit area of the mountain for freestyle riding.

There is much, much more, however. Snowmobiling, sleigh rides and cross-country skiing are all excellent options, as is ice skating on the largest Zamboni-maintained lake in North America.

Summertime in the mountains is a perfect time to take your camera on a hike. The flowers will be blooming, or maybe the fall colors will be coming in the aspen groves around the area.

Hop on a mountain bike or whitewater raft for a thrill ride. Take your golf clubs for a tour around the links, or let a horse lead you along old mining paths.

The options are there, it's up to you to choose your own adventure!

Attractions

River Run is the cultural heart of Keystone, CO, hosting events of all types. Check the schedules and calenders to see what might be happening: it could be a musical performance, an art exhibit, a movie premiere or something completely different.

The newest component of River Run is the Warren Station, a performing arts center right in the center of town. Check the events calender for upcoming shows and performances!
