Overview

Keystone winters may be well known for skiing, but there are other activities to explore as well. Snow-covered mountains offer a variety of options for all types of individuals, making a Keystone ski vacation so much more than just skiing.

Skiing
Keystone ski vacations are unforgettable experiences. With 3,148 acres of terrain, the mountains offers something for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers, with 135 trails waiting to be explored from the 20 lifts.

Snowboarding
In addition to the open bowls in the Outback, Keystone has the largest night terrain park in Colorado. The A51 terrain park has sections for riders of all skills levels, as well as a dedicated lift to get the maximum amount of time in the park.

Cross Country Skiing
The Nordic Center offers rentals and lessons for people looking to have some old-fashioned fun on the snow. There are 9 miles of groomed trails directly within the Nordic Center area, and access to 35 miles of trails in the nearby White River National Forest.

Ice Skating
Keystone Lake is the largest outdoor lake in North America that is maintained by a Zamboni. There are rental and equipment services for simple strolls on the ice, or for the regular pick-up games of hockey. Just don't forget your camera.

Snowshoeing
The Nordic Center rents snowshoes to explore the trails in the White River National Forest. In addition, if you're in Keystone during the right time, make sure to take a Full Moon Snowshoe Tour to get out into the quiet and calm of the night.

Tubing
Adventure Point Tubing Hill is a great place to bring the entire group for some fun. Open during the night skiing hours, the tubing hill has six different lanes that vary in speed and slope, including some that allow “trains,” or groups of tubes linked together as they slide down the hill.

Scenic Gondola Rides
Head up the River Run Gondola for some tubing or lunch at the Summit House, sitting atop Dercum Mountain at 11,640 feet. Or, continue onto the Outlook at 11,660 for a snack and hot chocolate before snapping some pictures and heading back down.

Snowmobiling
Sometimes, you may want to still get out into the snow, but not necessarily on a pair of skis. Snowmobiling requires no experience to join a tour, and is a great way to explore the forests on your Keystone Colorado ski vacation.

Sleigh Rides
There is nothing is quite like sitting on a sleigh being pulled by a team of horses. The sounds and smells during quiet night rides make the experience unique and special, especially under the brilliant stars of the Colorado mountains.
