Mountain Information

Copper Mountain Ski Resort is known among locals as "Colorado's Perfect Ski Mountain." It is one of the larger ski areas in Colorado, with 2,433 acres of skiable terrain. Its base sits at 9,712 feet, its summit at 12,313 feet, making for an exciting vertical drop of 2,601 feet, also the largest drop within six miles. The ski area has 22 lifts accessing a plethora of different types of terrain. The skiing and snowboarding terrain is divided by ability by natural features. If you are a beginner, you can easily stay on beginner runs all day and not get bored; likewise for advanced or expert skiers. With 125 trails covering Copper Mountain, there are wonderful runs for all abilities. The mountain, however, is known for its intermediate and advanced terrain. 21% of terrain is beginner, 25% intermediate, 36% advanced, and 18% expert. If you are looking to catch some air, check out the resorts largest terrain park called Catalyst. It can be accessed from the American Flyer lift and has everything from mini-kickers to a rail section to giant tabletops to a 430 foot long Superpipe.

Copper Mountain is open from November 4th through April 22nd. Lifts are open Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm. On Saturdays and Sundays the lifts open at 8:30am. Upper lifts always close at 3:30pm. Copper Mountain receives a ton of snow each year, 280 inches on average. The resort also has a large snowmaking system, filling in 380 acres of the ski area. Copper Mountain Resort is easily accessible by plane or car. Airports at Denver International and Eagle County both have shuttle services if booked in advance. Denver is just 75 miles to the east and Vail is 20 miles to the west on Interstate 70.
