Snow Tubing
Tubing is a winter sport that appeals to our inner child, drawing our grins and shouts as the tube bumps against rails, jumps over hills, and twists around as it slides down the mountain.
- Remember earlier times of simply grabbing a tube, heading to the nearest hill and jumping on, screaming with glee the entire way down.
- Both Keystone and Copper Mountain have designated tubing areas to indulge your inner child.
- Tie your fate to your friends' in a snow tubing train, then all try your luck together.
Overview
Revive that tingle in your toes and twinkle in your eyes with an exhilarating snow tube ride. Sit back and enjoy the journey, then hop back in your tube for a tow up the mountain to do it all over again. The thrill of sliding down a chute in a snow tube is exciting and great for all ages.
In the end, we're kids at heart and snow tubing will bring out the child in us all.
Where to go Snow Tubing
Keystone
Take the River Run Gondola up to Adventure Point, where Keystone snow tubing lanes await eager visitors. Six lanes vary from the gentle to the steep, perfect for beginners or children. Some lanes allow “trains,” or groups of tubes that are linked together for group fun.
After a day in Breckenridge, snow tubing is still available at their sister mountain, Keystone. Tubing is open during night skiing, so there's plenty of time to play!
Reservations (800-354-4386) are recommended to schedule a specific hour, especially during the busy holiday season. Tubing is $29 per person, which includes a ride up the gondola. Spectators can join their group by purchasing a Foot Passenger ticket for the gondola.
Copper Mountain
Complete with four lanes of different speeds and slopes, the Coca-Cola Tubing Hill is located in the East Village, right below the base of the Super Bee lift. Head down solo or in a train with your friends before hopping on the “Magic Carpet,” a moving carpet that takes you back to the top of the tubing hill.
Renting a tube for an hour will cost $24 for adults, or $20 for children under 13. Don't forget to call (866) 416-9874 to schedule your preferred time slot, as they fill up quickly in high season.
Rentals & Fees
For the independent minds, outdoor shops will rent snow tubes, and even recommend local locations to find a good tubing hill.
