Whether you come to Keystone in the winter or summer, you will leave feeling like you have had the vacation of a lifetime. Summer months lure travelers who enjoy hiking, backpacking, fly fishing, white water, and playing golf. Surrounded by the White River National Forest and situated just along the Snake River, Keystone, Colorado is a great place to enjoy many adventures.

In winter months, Keystone, CO is booming with skiers, snowboarders, families, and those just seeking a winter getaway. Keystone Resort encompasses four different mountains, each of which lures a different type of skier or snowboarder. Thanks to bright lights in the evenings, Keystone not only prides itself for a seven month season, but for an 11 ½ hour ski day. Technically only three mountains are actually accessible from the Keystone Village Base area. The fourth mountain, known as Arapahoe Basin or A-Basin, is further up Loveland Pass, only a ten minute shuttle ride from Keystone. Arapahoe Basin is known for being deep and steep, providing both difficult and exciting terrain for skiers and snowboarders. The three mountains accessible from Keystone Village are Keystone Mountain, the North Peak, and the Outback. Keystone Mountain is a great place to start for beginners and families as a majority of the trails are groomed and wide open. If you are a more experienced skier or rider, North Peak is known for moguls and steep cruisers. The Outback, correctly named, is a great place to escape to if you like tree skiing and finding secret stashes of powder.

But Keystone Resort has much more than just skiing and snowboarding opportunities. The village is filled with a variety of boutiques, gear stores, and restaurants. There is also a Nordic center, the country's largest outdoor ice skating rink, as well as opportunities to enjoy sleigh rides, go snowmobiling, play tennis, spend a day at the spa, or take a scenic ride up the gondola.

If you are driving to Keystone, CO, it is just a short drive from Denver. Take I-70 west for 55 miles, then CO-9 north and exit toward Silverthorne on US-6 east. Once you are in Keystone, it really doesn't matter if you have a car or not as the Summit Stage, a bus service throughout the county, offers free daily transportation between towns and all major ski areas.
