Gold Rush Cross Country Ski Race
Frisco, Colorado celebrates its gold mining era with the Gold Rush Cross Country Ski Race. This event is Colorado's oldest citizen's cross-country ski race. This is the centerpiece of the town's winter carnival. The Salomon Nordic Series Gold Rush features a 5K classic, 10K skate and a 20K skate. The proceeds from the fun filled event go to support local athletes. Recently, Frisco has added ice sculpting to the festivities.
Ice sculptures are displayed in the Frisco Historic Park. Spectators can enjoy watching the ice sculptures come to life as the carvers work on their art through the day.
