Peninsula Recreation Area

The Peninsula Recreation Area is located south on Highway 9 in the direction of Breckenridge. The Peninsula boasts a multi-purpose field, disc golf course, a few campgrounds, picnic areas, and a wonderful network of trails.

The Peninsula Recreation Area contains a multitude of different amenities the whole family will enjoy, including a skateboard park, plenty of parking for your vehicles, and a trail system that won't leave you disappointed. You have to make a reservation before arriving (reservations are only taken after January 1st the same year). They are based on a first-come, first-served basis. However, the town of Frisco does not take reservations for the camping and picnic areas found on the Peninsula.

Frisco Nordic Center
This center offers over 46 kilometers of trails for skiers with a wide range of abilities. It's considered one of the best facilities of its kind in Colorado. The Nordic Center is located in the Peninsula Recreation Area, which makes it a convenient spot to visit if you happen to be in the area. It provides a top-notch facility for skating, classic skiing, and snowshoeing, set amidst an authentic Rocky Mountain setting.
