Lake Dillon is located in the town of Dillon, which was incorporated on January 26, 1883 at the site of a trading post and stage stop. Dillon moved locations three times.
Dillon is a small town with a total population of about 750 people. It's located in a beautiful spot in Summit County. This is the best place to visit if you want to enjoy summer activities amid gorgeous natural scenery. Plus, the town is very close to Summit County ski areas, which is what makes it a convenient place to stay when you're on a winter vacation. Each year tourists bring the population to almost 4,000 people.
The largest lake in the area is Lake Dillon. Here you can fish brown and rainbow trout, as well as Kokanee Salmon. The lake offers 26 miles of shoreline, which means finding a quiet place to enjoy the day will not be a problem.
And if you want, take an historic boat tour of the lake. This is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the country. Here everyone can find something to enjoy.
